“Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass under trees on a summer's day, listening to the murmur of the water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is by no means a waste of time.”
~John Lubbock, The Use of Life

There's a somber beauty to these battlefields, a contrast worthy of reflection. The weight of history and bloodshed against such beauty and tranquility.
A couple of weeks ago, my husband and I met up with my family at the Shenandoah Valley Fiber Festival! There was amazing food, coffee and tons of local vendors! I discovered the Cavey Family Sheep and Wool Company and Avalon Springs Farm, both located in the Maryland countryside. There were some beautiful sheep, angora goats and sweet angora bunnies (I was tempeted to bring one home). I will definitely be back next year for more fiber fun, if youre ever near Berryville, VA during the last week of September, you should definitely put this fiber festival on your list of things to do.
